Youth Show Rules and Regulations

Barn in the USA Youth Show is sanctioned by the American Dairy Goat Association (ADGA) and ADGA rules shall govern. ADGA Youth Senior Doe and Junior Doe show are separately sanctioned by the American Dairy Goat Association.

BASE DATE:
The base date for these shows will be June 28, 2024
 


SHOW TIMES:
Friday, June 28, 2024 1:00 pm Youth Senior Doe show begins. 

 

At the conclusion of the ADGA Youth Senior Doe Show, the ADGA Youth Junior Doe Show will immediately begin.

 

Exhibitors will remain in their ring, judges will move to the next ring.

YOUTH SHOW:

This will be a separately ADGA sanctioned Senior and Junior Doe show open to all Youth, 4-H, FFA, grange, and ADGA youth. Youth show participants must be under 21 years of age on June 28, 2024. Animals exhibiting in the Youth show must be in the youth participants name or family/farm name.

Only youth under 21 years of age are allowed in the show ring. NO adults or parents may help show goats in the ring. Only youth can help other youth exhibitors show goats. Please plan accordingly if you are bringing extra goats in the same age category. 

 

CHECK-IN:
The fairgrounds will be open Friday, June 28 at 10:00 am.

Check-in will begin at 11:00 am and close at 12:30 pm.

 

ALL YOUTH SHOW ANIMALS must be checked in no later than 12:30 pm the day of the show. We will have to scratch your entry if not checked in by 12:30 pm. Late check-in will be at the discretion of the show committee; only unforeseen circumstances will be considered.

 

Animals exhibiting in the Youth show must be in the youth participants name or family/farm name.
 

The original registration certificate or stamped duplicate issued March 1, 2021 – present ARE ALLOWED to be used in accordance with ADGA Board passed policy for 2024.

All entries must be American Goat Society Purebreds, Canadian Goat Society, or ADGA Purebreds, Americans, Recorded Grade and Experimentals. These Rules have been submitted to ADGA with sanctions.
 


ENTRY FEES:

Entries post marked by Monday, June 24, 2024 will be $7 per animal, per ring.
Late fees will be applied after Monday, June 24, 2024 and charged $10 per animal, per ring.

No entry will be considered complete unless accompanied by the appropriate entry fees. NSF or returned checks will be charged an additional $30.00 and showing privileges will be suspended until fees are current.

No premiums paid, only ribbons.
Entry fees are non-refundable or transferable under any circumstance.


YOUTH SHOWMANSHIP:
CCGA will be hosting a Youth Showmanship on Friday, June 28 at the conclusion of the Youth Junior Doe show, but no earlier than 4pm. Youth showmanship will be judged in both rings. There is no charge for youth showmanship, but please pre-enter so we know how many are showing.

SUBSTITUTIONS:

Substitutions are allowed within the same breed only. No refunds or credits will be issued.

PEN FEES:

Approximately 190 10'x10' horse stalls will be available. Stalls will be assigned in order of receipt of paid entries. Cost per stall is $26 for the weekend and includes 2 bags of pine shavings and pen cleaning. Tack stalls are $10.

 

Buck only stalls are available for $15 and includes 1 bag of pine shavings and pen cleaning. Buck pens will be located inside the horse arena. Buck pens are 6'x6'.

NO STRAW allowed per fairground rules! Additional shaving bags are available for pre-order at $8 each or you may bring your own shaving bags. Shaving bags must be ordered by Sunday, June 16th.

SHOWING OUT OF TRAILERS:
You may show from your trailer and bring pens to set up. It is required that each exhibitor keep up, maintain their area and make sure your area is clean of debris before you leave. 

FRIDAY NIGHT POTLUCK BBQ:
Our club will host a Potluck BBQ on Friday, June 28th at 5:00 pm. Club will provide hamburgers and hotdogs with condiments and chips. Please bring a side dish or dessert to share!

 


PRE-SHOW MILK-OUT:
No pre-show milk out will be held. However, all exhibitors are reminded that judges will discriminate against over–uddered does in the show ring.

 


MILK DISPOSAL:
All milk is to be disposed of in the wash rack drain.

 


TATTOOS:
In accordance with ADGA rules, animals must be tattooed before they are registered. No tattooing at the show!! Please check your animal’s tattoos before you enter the ring.

 


RECORDED GRADES:
Dairy goats, whose papers read experimental, native on appearance must show in recorded grade class.

 


HORNS:
All goats must be dehorned or naturally polled. Small scurs are acceptable.

 


HEALTH CHECK:
It is the responsibility of each exhibitor to know the requirements of transporting animals into and within the state of Washington. Health papers are not required by our show. Exhibitors will be asked to remove any animal that has been found to be ill and/or contagious. These animals must be placed in their vehicle or trailer away from all other animals competing in the show. Disputes will be resolved by a licensed veterinarian at the exhibitor’s expense.

 


LIABILITY:
Neither ADGA, CCGA nor Clark County Fairgrounds or anyone representing the above shall be held liable or responsible for damage, loss, injury or illness to persons, animals, or property in connection with this show. This show/event is part of the Washington State Goat Breeders Association's annual events.

CAMPING:

Overnight camping is available. 

Dry camping is available for $20/night.

Electrical hook-ups are available for $30/night. 

 

Please pre-pay for camping on your entry form. Camping spots will not be assigned; they are first come, first serve. 

 

All RVs must be registered and paid, and display parking hang tags with paid dates at all times. 

 

Be prepared with a minimum 50’ extension cord and 110v adapter. 

 

Overnight security is not provided, and the Event Center is not responsible for theft or property damage of RVs/LQs while parked on the grounds.

Possession, service or consumption of alcoholic beverages on the grounds, including in parking areas, is strictly prohibited. This prohibition does not include alcohol consumption inside private RVs located on the grounds for a specific event. It does include all other vehicles.

Open fire flames are not allowed on the grounds at any time.

Ÿ 

Grey water and sewage may not be dumped on the grounds at any time.

 

Showers are available for you to use. Showers are located in the restroom building of the Horse Arena. 

PARKING:

All vehicles, trucks and trailers may park south and east of the Horse Arena. DO NOT park in the load/unload zone.

EXHIBITOR:
Exhibitors are expected to present a neat appearance in the show ring. Acceptable attire is as dictated by ADGA; white or black pants are okay. Any exhibitor behaving in an ill-mannered way toward their animals, other exhibitors, the judges or the show committee will be asked to leave by the show committee. Entry fees will not be refunded. We expect the Rules governing this show to be read and complied with.


DOGS:
For the safety of dogs, goats and people, dogs must be leashed at all times. Owners/handlers must properly dispose of all animal waste. Dogs are not allowed in the show area or barn unless they are service dogs. Disruptive or barking dogs must be removed. 

RAFFLE:
We will have a raffle table set up on Saturday during the doe shows. Tickets will be available during the show. If you have an item to donate please email ccgoatassociation@gmail.com

 


ORDER OF SHOW:
Is subject to change should it become necessary to keep these shows moving in a timely manner.

 


BEST IN SHOW:
We are having Best In Show. Please be prepared to stay to the end of the show if you won Grand Champion in your breed! Your goat will lose their leg if they leave before Best In Show.
